Pilwha CHANG Professor, Women’s Studies, Graduate School, Ewha Womans University (Korea) Dr. Chang is currently a professor at the Department of Women’s Studies for Ewha Womans University’s Graduate School. She graduated from Ewha Womans University with a BA in English Literature and received her master’s degree in 1978 from the University of Hull in UK. Then she continued her study in University of Sussex and received a Ph. D. for Women in Development. She has been an influential figure in Women’s Studies both in national and international circles. From 1992 to 2000, she was the director of Asian Center for Women’s Studies and for Korea Women’s Institute in 1992. In 2002, she became the dean of Graduate School at Ewha Womans University for 4 years. During this time, she was also the chairperson for APEC SOM Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Gender Integration. In 2000, she became the president of Korean Association of Women’s Studies. She has been an active participant and leader for many social and volunteer works such as Convener of Organizing Committee for Women’s Worlds 2005. Her other positions include Policy Evaluation Committee member for Prime Minister’s Office. Dr. Chang is the author of “Women, Body and Sexuality” and other publications.
