Myoung-Hee KIM Dean of College of Engineering, Professor at Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Ewha Womans University (Korea) Professor Myoung-Hee Kim is very active in the scientific world; she is currently a Full Member of the National Academy of Engineering, as well as the Vice-President of both Korea Information Science Society and the Korea Society for Simulation. She is also a member of the board of directors for numerous scientific institutes. Particularly, she is the Director of the Center for Computer Graphics & Virtual Reality in Ewha Womans University, a center that researches further developments for a futuristic digital life. And also she had been a director of Korea Research Council for Industrial Science & Technology from 1999 to 2005. In addition, she has been the leader of a variety of scientific institutes for the past few years; she was the President of the Korea Computer Graphics Society from 2004 to 2006, Chairperson of Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI) of Korea Information Science Society in 2004, Director for the Korea Information Processing Society, Society for Computer Simulation International (SCSI) as well as the Medical Image Visual Computing Lab. She has received several awards between 2001 and 2006 for her contributions in the scientific field. These include the Cum Laude Poster Award she received in 2001, the 3rd Best Paper in Best Paper Award(2002), the Grand Prize she merited from the Hyundai-Kia Next Generation Vehicle Engineering Contest(2005) as well as the 50th Excellent Research Performance of 2006 selected by the Korea Science & Engineering Foundation. Professor Kim is also the author of approximately 250 scientific papers.
