Dr. Jeong-Woo Kil has served as the President and CEO of the JoongAng m&b since January 2007.
Before joining JoongAng Ilbo (JAI), Dr. Kil served for the Korean Embassy in Washington, D.C. as a diplomat (1987-91) and worked for the Korea Institute for Unification Studies, a Korean government think tank on inter-Korean relations as Director of Policy Studies(1991-1995). After joining the major Korean daily newspaper company in 1995, he worked as its diplomatic correspondent and columnist in Washington, D.C. (1995-2000) and in Tokyo (2000-2002).
Since coming back to Seoul Dr. Kil has worked as editorial staff writer and Director of Unification Research Institute, in-house think tank of the JoongAng Ilbo. From early 2005 until January 2007, he worked as Executive Director of the Strategic Planning of JAI and Publisher of the JoongAng Daily.
Dr. Jeong-Woo Kil graduated from Seoul National University with BA and MA in international relations and completed graduate studies in 1986 at Yale University with Ph.D. in Political Science.
