Hon. Yunsook Lee is currently the Vice President of the Korean Association of University Women. As a firm believer in the rights of women, she has been actively participating in politics where she was a Minister of Policital Affairs (Women's Affairs) and a member of the 16th National Assembly where she was also a Chairperson of the Special Committee on Women and key contributor to National Defense Committee. During her terms, she was instrumental in protecting and developing conditions and opportunities for women including continuation for Armed forces Nursing Academy.
In addition to her contributions in politics, she also has been continuously involved in NGO works. She is the advisor to the United Nations Association of Korea, Executive Board member of the Korea Women's Fund, former president of Korean Council of Women, Co-representative of the Korean Voters Movement United, and Founder and Vice president of the Korean Association for Community Education.
Furthermore, she worked for USIS as a cultural advisor for 24 years. With her wits and humor, she has been a radio and TV commentator in Korea since 1959. She is a graduate of Ewha WomanĄŻs University with a B.A. in Education.
