Having obtained her Ph.D. in Mathematics at Tel-Aviv University in 1981, Prof. Teicher joined the Department of Mathematics at Bar-Ilan University in 1982. She is currently Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Israel, and also serves as the President of the International Women Forum¡¯s Israel Chapter.
Prof. Teicher has visited many institutions, and gave invited lectures at international conferences, seminars and colloquia (65+), including Columbia University, New York, Max Planck Institute, Bonn, Academia Dei Lincei, Rome, Hong Kong University, Tata Institute, Bombay, University of Barcelona, and Shanghai University, China.
She is a member of the Council for Higher Education participating especially in the subcommittees for Technological Colleges, Promoting Higher Education in the Orthodox Community, and Promoting Higher Education in the Arab Sector. As other administrative duties, she has been Vice President for Research, Bar-Ilan University and member, Executive Committee, European Mathematical Society.
Prof. Teicher is Chairman of the Education Committee of the European Mathematical Society and is a member of the Helsinki Group Advisory Board to the EC for Women in Science.
