Kimie IWATA Director, Corporate Executive Officer, Shiseido (Japan) Ms. Kimie Iwata spent 32 years at the Japanese government before she joined the business community in 2004. She had an extensive work experience at the Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare, specializing in women’s issue　and international labor issue. Her experience includes enactment of the Equal Employment Opportunity Law and the head of Japanese delegation to International Labor Organization. She started working at Shiseido in 2004 as a director and a corporate executive officer responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility of the cosmetics company. Since 2006, she has been responsible for Personnel and Consumer Information. She has a wide range of activities at business committees and NPOs supporting empowerment of women. She is Committee Member of CSR at the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member and Director of Keizai Doyukai, Director of National Committee for United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) Japan, Councilor of Japanese-German Center Berlin among other things. She holds a BA in Arts and Science from the University of Tokyo. She is married with two children.
