Soonhoon Ahn is a global career and human resources consultant based in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. She is principal and founder of AHN Consulting and has over 30 years of experience working with international organizations and large institutions such as the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Peace Corps, Bethlehem Steel, Branch Banking and Trust Company (BB&T) and several American and Korean universities.
She provides consulting services in executive career counseling and coaching, career transition training, international recruitment and career development and employment support group management. She has special insight and skill in assisting others to discover their career or life purpose and vision, in multicultural and diversity training, in managing career transitions and in fostering optimal job performance and conflict resolution. Her particular expertise lies in helping and coaching individual clients with the planning and development of global careers with international organizations.
Prior to founding the AHN Consulting, Mrs. Ahn had a long career with the World Bank based in Washington, D.C. and the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines, where she served as international civil servant in the field of Human Resource Management. She extensively conducted international recruitment of senior managers and technical professionals.
Over the years, Mrs. Ahn has been an active member of professional organizations such as National Career Development Association (NCDA), Maryland Career Development Association (MCDA), Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Association of Career Professionals (ACP) International, and the World Bank RetireesĄŻ Association. In 2006, she served as Programs Chair for the Washington, D.C. chapter of ACP International.
