 Margaret Leung is General
Manager Global Co-Head Commercial Banking for the HSBC Group, with responsibility
for the Group¡¯s relationship with all middle market corporates and small and
medium enterprises in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Mrs. Leung joined HSBC
in 1978 to work in the International Corporate Account Division in the Group¡¯s
Head Office in Hong Kong. She moved to Australia to help set up HongkongBank
of Australia Ltd (now HSBC Bank Australia) in 1985. On returning to Hong Kong
in 1988, she held a number of positions before being appointed Head of Corporate
Banking in 2000 with responsibility for large multinational corporate customers.
She was appointed a Group General Manager of the HSBC Group in 2005.
Mrs. Leung is a director
of HSBC Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific) Holdings
Limited and HSBC Precision Printing (Hong Kong) Limited.
Mrs. Leung is a member
of a number of Government and Industry Committees: Real Estate/Infrastructure
Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; Sub-Committee on
the Promotion of Corporate Volunteering of the Social Welfare Department; ReSource
The Counselling Centre; Board of Governors of Junior Achievement Hong Kong;
Hong Kong Exporters¡¯ Association; Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation
Advisory Board; Hong Kong Special Administrative Region¡¯s Railway Objections
Hearing Panel; and Federation of Hong Kong Industries: Ad Hoc Committee
for International Outreach and Multi-national Corporations.
Mrs. Leung graduated
in 1975 from the University of Hong Kong with a bachelor¡¯s degree in Economics,
Accounting and Business Administration.
Mrs. Leung is married
with two daughters.
